Mileage Reimbursement Rate: G-28 Revised
UC Policy G-28: Travel Regulations has been updated to reflect the increased mileage reimbursement rates for personal vehicles used for business travel or relocation, per IRS Notice 2025-5. The new mileage reimbursement rates are effective Jan.1, 2025. The revised policy is available online at UCOP Policy (
search 'G-28' under Keywords). Please ensure your unit’s travelers are aware of these changes.

Register for Crisis24 Horizon
UCR travelers—both new and those previously registered with Worldcue—should sign up for UC’s new risk management platform, Crisis24 Horizon. To create an account, visit UC Horizon web portal and enter 'UCRCampus' as the Member ID. With Crisis24 Horizon, you can:

✅ Access security/safety assessments for over 200 countries, 800 provinces, and 400 cities

Take the UCOP Annual Travel Survey for a Chance to Win!
We want to hear from you! The Annual Travel Survey 2024 is now live and will only take about 10 minutes of your time. Your anonymous feedback (categorized by role and campus) will provide valuable insights into how the travel program was used in 2024 and help shape priorities for the future. The deadline to complete the survey is February 7, 2025. Once you complete the survey, you can enter for a chance to win:
- Grand Prize: Two (2) winners will each receive ONE (1) United Airlines voucher for travel anywhere within the U.S.

NYC Congestion Fee Now in Effect
As of January 5, New York City has introduced a congestion fee of $9 or more for vehicles entering local streets and avenues at or below 60th Street during peak hours. This new regulation affects cars, trucks, taxis, and rideshares, with fees varying according to vehicle size, the day of the week, and the time of day. While UC offers competitive contracts with Hertz, National, Enterprise, Dollar, and Thrifty, please note that taxes and fees, including this congestion fee, are not eligible for reductions or waivers. We encourage travelers to review all costs when renting vehicles. More information can be found here.
